Lovely looking fly. How dod you create the hackle? It looks as if the cdc is clipped under the body?

Hmmm.. I'm not winning with CDC at the moment but I might have more chance with that than the Loop pattern. :-)

Should have added that goes without saying. Although I suppose I've said it now..

Jonathan,

I have step by step for this style of dressing here:
River Fly Box

Any problems, please just say.

Dave that's a brilliant looking fly. I notice you and a number of others are very keen on CDC. I have no real experience using it at all nevermind tying it but was wondering what it's durability is like floating wise? Do you need to treat it regularly for example?

Dave that is a great looking fly and I am finding your river fly box site a great inspiration even though I am yet to fish a river but that is to be addressed next year.

CDC is a wonder ingredient: a couple of false casts and it's ready to go again. It's also highly visible.

It's nearly on a par with a very expensive hackle I bought from Cookshill. The flies I tied with those hackles wouldn't sink for love or money, even after I'd stamped on them in thick mud. Very frustrating.

CDC is similar.. no treatment necessary.
