Default Bungs

Just see what you thoughts are on the best way to TIE a bung.
Have only ever used bungs once or twice ( Borrowed from a friend who is a bung lover for buzzer fishing) but want to try and see what its like.

Just ask Google - there are several videos on "you tube" showing different ways of making them. They will come up and you can take your pick!

I don't do much bung fishing anymore, cause too many flippin tangles. But this is how i make my bungs:

Get a size 10 hook, Tie a chunk of foam to the rear half of the hook, then when secure tie another chunk of foam to the front half of the hook. Make it so they're flat together and theres no gap between them. Try using contrasting colours of foam, so thats its still visible as it drifts over the water, as you tend to get light/dark reflections, I tend to use white and green.

hope this helps

John

i tie my own bungs few different ways,
buy some strike out two ( not one ) its about £3 pull the inside out of a well used Biro pen if the ink has gone down and left the plastic tube clear cut a bit off about 1/2" long take a bit of strike out yarn about 1/2" long tie it on top of tube in center few raps of thread pull both ends up and rap thread round like you would the hackle on a klinkhammer fly then whip finish bit varnish on bottom on thread job done, slid leader through tube and keep in place with a short bit of cocktail stick,
or buy some egg yarn tie the same way and treat with water shed, i have used thompson's water seal it works just as well,
they cast very well with been so light they also land on the water very nice and float for ever, iv also used cotton bud sticks for the tube but they tend to split after a wile, hope this helps you out cheap as chips
