Default Saltwater Fly Vice

Just wondering, is it necessary to have a special vice to deal with the larger size SW flies, or will the cheaper end vices do the job? By cheaper end I mean the AAs and Regency 20 quid area.
Thanks.

Depends on a. how many flies you're going to tie with it & b. the size range of hooks you'll be using. I'd avoid the AA type for larger flies as the jaws were never designed for larger hooks & grip may well be an "issue".

It's just to get into tying really, so not loads and loads. I suppose size 6 upwards... Don't want to spend loads and find out it's not my thing.

I bought a Regent and have tied up to 6/0 pike flies on it although I usually tie on max size 3/0 hooks. I also have a tube fly needle that clamps in the jaw... 18mnths on its jaws are perhaps a little over excercised BUT its a good vice imho...
