Default Mousing Around

I watched the short film "Once In A Blue Moon" this afternoon and, given I have a trip to NZ in February, I couldn't resist:

Excellent,

Been tying a few myself! I likw that you have done the eyes and ears, even though the fish never see them . . . . I quite enjoy the whole process too. Though I fear I have given mine too much personality and won't feel like drowing them.

Incidentally - what hook have you used?

Thanks,

Andy

Cheers guys. Actually Andy I didn't pack the hair very well on this one (see how it's not very dense near the back end). I did a second and got more hair around the tail tie in point (you can't spin the hair at that point) and then remembered to half hitch as I went along the shank. The felt I have for the ears is too thick and difficult to pack around but it's not like I'll be doing many of these! The hook is a Gamakatsu SP11-3L3H in size 2.

Arkle, it's nothing other than a terrestrial pattern... Watch the movie and see the pattern in action. While it is rather short, I can't recommend the movie enough. The cinematography is fantastic.

All I think when I see these spun hair creations is the mess that must be made when trimming them - just think if you sneezed at the wrong moment. It probably sounds like I have some sort of OCD, which couldn't be farther from the truth, the wife however can spot a hackle fibre on the living room floor at 10 paces.

Good effort though Steve, it does look like really exciting fishing.

Hi Steve, well it looks good on the inch and a half screen on my blackberry!

I will pull it to bits when / if I get my laptop working!

I bet its fantastic to see a trout chasing one of these mouse patterns across a stream.

Cheers

Andy
