Here's a little Booby pattern that works for stickleback and 1" fry. Try it you'll find that it's a super little pattern!

Cheers guys, this was just a first attempt with the body material, it's not new but it's not old either, it's a stiff kind of lurex type thing, used a lot in saltwater flies, i'll get back to you.

Tail, White marabou
Under Body: Ethafoam
Body: Can't remember?! I'll find out,
Eyes: White daddy body foam about 4mm
The bodies coloured with pen and the eyes, take your dubbing needle and create a hole in the middle of the foam, Poke your pen in the hole, then ad a touch of Hard as nails or loon hard head to the needle and put that in the hole. It sets you have eyes!

Don't want to horn in on your thread but you mentioned 'fry' - I came up with this tying recently - not a booby but could easily be adapted just consists of mylar tube. I have added a bit more colour since I took the photograph, trying to make it resemble a stickleback ! (In August last year in Scotland caught a 1lb brownie - it had 4 full grown sticklebacks inside - all swallowed tail first !)

Body looks like Pearl Mylar pushed up slightly?

Hi Marteene, It's similar a but a lot stiffer hence they use it for saltwater things with teeth, very similar though mate.
