Default alternative to alian hair

Hi, can anyone recommend a good alternative to alien hair, I have been buying it from zoota lures and the material isn't consistantly frizzy which I need to make bulky pike flys, I have looked at lots of synthetic hairs but there are so many to choose from, any advice on material and where to buy would be appreciated, thanks, steve.

DNA Holofusion is even better but DNA fibres don't allow you to shape the fly in the same way that you can with Puglisi and SFB.

Here's a little saltwater number:

DNA every time, you could also try Moser, sculpin wool or Moser Ghost fibre too.

Agree with Steve. EP fibres, or my preference, SF Blend from H20. Best colours available stateside though. You could go one further and make up your own blends from standard slinky fibre and various flash - just use fine stuff like angel hair....this way you will have a completely unique fly!

Good luck.

Dougie

This is a Perch pattern tied with slinky as a base material with a few added ingredients.......

Steve Farrar Flash Blend

Here's another EP fibre fly:

The fibres are as tough as old boots. I use them for snook and tarpon.

cheers steve/ dougie there exactly what im looking for, had a look around and the E P fibres are a fair bit more expensive than alien hair but what the hey, E P fibres do seem very consistent in density I'll give it a go and try to get a photo up, that's a class fly Dougie.
