In £stretcher they are selling a big bag of stuff similar to the Tesco stuff mentioned a couple of weeks ago, It looks a bit finer and for something like £1.89 you get a huge bag

No not in Poundstretchers m8, there is a shop called "pound world" in Waterloo Place, beside Supervalue. You can't miss it there doing a lot of work on the payment beside it.

Some of these tinsels wash away in water and Sally's can take all the colour out of pink/green ones. But if a brand fails, then you can actually use this stuff as christmas decoration and its only a dollar or so. Well worth the experiment.

just makes you wonder why we are paying the extraordinary prices , although you do get consistency in the fly tying brands i use which i suppose is the lure of the expensive Mylars and holographic we buy ,,,,,,just a moan as I'm feeling like doing some.

I bought something like that from the works, I was all excited until I tried tying with it.

The problems with the stuff I bought was its broke really easily. It was not strong like the stuff we normally use for tying.

I'd love to know how you find it. I might have to go scouting around the pound shops!

Cheers

Andy

The actual stuff we use for tying can be had from sewing shops (if it is different I certainly can't tell), it's called Madeira Jewel / Madeira Spectra and DMC Light Effects, some of the colours are hard to find though. Per reel it's more expensive than the veniards stuff, but you get 100m rather than 20
