Save your pennies and strip your own herl mate - with a bit of practice you can soon get it done. I soak mine in water and then just use my fingers to strip all the herl off works for me.

Hi Mate,

Why not strip some yourself? Natural ones you can strip with Veet Hair removal cream, should take you about 10 mins to strip a complete peacock eye...

Dyed eyes, finger and thumb job, takes about 2 mins to strip a peaock fibre...

Default try this

how you doin m8 still got the loomis

big dinner plate pore in some liquid bleach with water until its even but not over flowing

get big peacock eye feather and dip in leave imersed for a minute

gently imerse in luke warm fresh water and gently remove herl in water leave to dry you can then dye or use natural
i tye some stoatin quill buzzers so the little extra effort pays off
regards new shop is up and running now and the ebay shop is getting bigger

I've always put the herl on a piece of paper, pressed my fingertip firmly down on the end & then rubbed gently against the flue with a pencil eraser.
Seems to get the fibres off pretty cleanly.

I agree with Steve, A basic rubber does the job and more importantly it doesn't weaken the quill.
