Andy, Ive noticed from your postings that you seem to like olive based wet flies . Do you find it that its a successfull shade for brownies....? I tend to do better with black, claret, gold or orange based patterns for brownies.Olive flies would come well down my pecking order unless I was in amongst a hatch of mayflies or lake olives of course.....but those opprtunities dont come along that often where I fish. Do you have anywhere in particular in mind when tying these patterns....?

Default olives

agree totally jimmy.black.gold.orange.white.are my main colours for browns.most of the dabblers.olive wets ive posted are for a few Irish friends to try next season.apart from a few. hope to give them a swim in Orkney next June. done really well with olive dabblers last year. during a few sporadic olive hatches.
PS.hope this explains the olive flies.
