Scratch has a spectacular aura aboutScratch has a spectacular aura about
Default Old, new, and borrowed...

Here's a few that I was playing with towards the end of the season...

'Hare's Ear Invicta'

Had some good outings with the standard Silver Invicta last season, but I tend to think the size 12 to be the most effective, so I just tried beefing it it up a bit for a bigger hook in a decent wave by making it a bit 'raggier' with some H.E. and Squirrel.

Hook: B175 size 10
Tail: Nat GP Topping
Butt: Flat Mirage
Rib: Twisted Mirage
Body: 50/50 Mix of squirrel and Hare's ear with a pinch of pearl ice dub.
Body Hackle:Variant hen
Wing: Hen Pheasant
Throat: Picric stained Blue Jay.
Head Hackle: Variant hen.
Cheeks: JC splits
Thread: Black UTC

'Gorgeous Georgina'

Loosely based on the now ubiquitous 'Gorgeous George'. It claimed a couple of fish on Stocks at the back end. Shuffled it around a bit on the leader.. seems to be up to the job at any position on a 'shallow' Line.

Hook: B175 or 170 size 10 or 12.
Tail: Nat GP Topping
Butt: Glo-Brite No.4
Rib: Mirage
Body: Seals fur mix - Reds, clarets, fiery browns, gingers....
Body Hackle: Fiery Brown cock saddle (Saracen)
'Wing': Semi-cloaked, Nat bronze mallard
Overwing: Nat blue Jay
Cheeks: JC Splits
Thread: Red UTC

'Silver Invicta Snatcher'

Not given this one a run out as yet, but looking forward to doing so. Dressed pretty much identically to the standard, but on a curved hook, and minus the tail.

Hook: B110 size 10,12,14
Rib: Silver Wire.
Body: Flat silver.
Body Hackle: Red game cock, stripped down one side.
Wing: Hen Pheasant
Throat: Picric stained Blue Jay.
Head Hackle: Variant hen.
Thread: Black UTC

Default Smart @rse

Just popped onto the forum for some inspiration for an hours tying.

This is the first post I looked at, after seeing those, I'm not going to bother. My ragged wrapping seem a waste of time compared to those. I looked really close to find a trapped hackle, or a dodgy turn of tinsel, but no, absolute perfection. Cheers Scratch I'm now really depressed
