Default bloodworm

This and simiar patterns are real winners. A local who fishes Wych Elm in Cumbria came up with bthis pattern several years ago. The exception being that his patern did not have the contrasting butt. He originally used yellow but I tied them in lots of colours and normally find the pattern works best static under an indicator.

I go to a haberdashery shop and look at the containers of beads in the rack and pick. The red I use is sparkly and maybe thats why it works so well. A doddle to tie. Just build up a bit of thread behind the eye, slip on 4 beads - size 12 widish gape hook - finish off at end of beazds and a great fly tied in moments.

White is also a very good colour along with black and olive. Shocking pink works well in winter.
