Default czech nymph hooks?

whats your favourite czech nymph hook? I used to use kamsan B100's, light wire I know, but I found the B110's wanting for hooking penetration. This winter I'm trying out the knpaek shrimp hooks, they look the biz, especially with the offset point.

you really cant begin to appreciate the hook point until it is viewed from beneath.

I'll also be testing the dohiku range that phil sells for my wee beadhead nymphs and scuds for the droppers.

what do you use?

Have a look at the Partridge czech hooks.

A great off set hook point.

I have used most of them.

I find that the knapeck hooks a bit of a problem on two counts.

I have had alot of hooks with eyes not fully formed and with hook points turned over.

cheers toby, yeh I noticed the eyes were a bit 'incomplete'. not a problem with any of the hook points in this packet though.

I had my eyes on the 'skalka' pupae hooks from the flytying boutique, they are a bit expensive but I don't mind paying for top quality hooks.

will have to sample some partridge hooks from lakeland methinks

I'm going to have to Google these hooks and see if anyone carries them here in the States. When I asked our 'local folks' not one of them had even heard of these .... sigh, we're soooooo far behind the power curve here in So. Oregon.

fae

Edit: Woozer! Not a single 'hit' on Google suggesting there's ANYONE in the US that carry any of the above hooks. Looks like buy out of the UK or a 'very special' order from one of our local fly shops.
