Default light/magnifier

I was wondering if any of you use a light and or magnifier to tie your flies?
my vision is perfect but thinking of getting the magnifier at least.

What are your thoughts.
Cheers, Graham.

I use a bargain bin special from orvis. light on a bendy stem, and magnifier on another. Got in the way a bit atfirst, but I enjoyed the better detail and persevered.
I cant tell you the improvement in my tying.!

(..............Well actually I can there is none! just I can now see clearly just how cr@p I am.).

Try a pair of cheap reading glasses. I bought some last week and they've made a world of difference. They don't get in the way and allow me to focus on things much closer to my nose and act as slight magnifying glasses.

I would agree with Jim on this one maharg - dont, once you start using them it is very difficult to then stop using them, they also get in the way, distort proportions etc etc i tried one and did not get on with it - i now use a cheap pair of reading glasses which you can buy in various magnification strengths and find them to be very user friendly

I needed x2 mag on close range work ,bought an expensive lamp/magnifier.I found the whole experience clumsy, and a £2 pair of x's 2 reading glasses out of /Boots/Asda solved the problem.I have kept the lamp for times when my vision further deteriorates.but at present i'll be sticking to the reading glasses. Why use a mash hammer to crack an egg.
