Stunning! What is the tail made with? Same as the barred hackle, or is that a soft hackle(partridge)?

This is my all time favorite March Brown pattern.

Best so far a 23" Brown from the Don.

Not sure about that, its got a great bloody big thorax hackle.

The tail is Coq de Leon (some brown version with a fancy name) and the soft hackle in front of the dyed grizzle is brown partridge.

Thanks Rabbitangler ,C'mon guys show me yours

Roman Moser dust fibre. I used it in place of the origional deer hair as it's much more robust. Can't claim the pattern as my own, it was from a T&S in the eighties.

Buzz, I tie and use something very similar to your pattern.
Rabbitangler gave me one of his, which did very well for me on the Don. Both perform very well when the fish are on duns.

I have to say however that I find a parachute Adams does as well as anything for me when the fish are on duns.

When using emergers, I use a simple brown klink, a DHE, or a CDC emerger with brownish bodies.
