Default Monday's Child???

Hi.

I'm re-reading the classic The Pursuit of Stillwater Trout by Brian Clarke in which he refers to a fly several times (which I presume is some sort of lure that was popular for a brief time in the 70's) called Monday's Child.
Apparently the fly took trout up & down the country & resembled a "Christmas tree with all the lights turned on" and Clarke describes the "pulsating radiations" of the fly.

Has anyone got a dressing for this fly or know any more details?
I'm at a complete loss

I have a reference to a fly of this name but from my notes is was devised by a Mike Sabine, secretary of the Fly Dresssers Guild in the late 70s

Hook10-14
Tail: Dyed scarlet marabou herl or soft flue from base of red goose or swan shoulder feather.
Body: Orange Seal fur,on orange thread tied fairly bulky.
Rib: oval silver tinsel
Hackle: four/five turns of soft white hackle.
An underbody of silver lurex tinsel can be utilised

I'd agree with barbusbruce. The dressing he's given is the one I remember for the Monday's Child.

It was quite effective on the midlands resevoirs in the mid eighties fished on the point on a hi speed hi D.
