Default Golden olive bumble

with all these lovely looking bumbles on the forum of late that were making me druel uncontrolably, I had to have a go myself. So here goes, my first golden olive bumble. all comments welcome, good or bad

I used a special blend of seals fur and red ice dub for the body, I think its got a nice glow to it. Tell me what you think.

Mate you can tie but you really need to start taking daylight shots to do your flies justice and maybe put a camera on your christmas list

Did you use partidge for the head hackle? It's hards to see the colors but it looks very neat.

Over the young streams.
Come away, O human child!
To the waters and the wild
With a faery, hand in hand,
For the world's more full of weeping than you can understand.

sorry about the pic it was a light olive partridge hackle, from cookshill, the hackle was a metz grade 2 saddle in irish golden olive from ruthvenflyfisher (gerry), a wee pearl tinsel tag, nat. G.P. topping for the tail and gold oval for the rib.

Try a "daylight" bulb in ya desk lamp, I use them and find they are great for tying with and the odd piccie, I too tend to tie more late evenings and having swapped from standard to daylight bulbs is definately much better - a little too much better really as now I can see the mistakes in my creations!

good lookin' fly by the way!

Steve

thanks for that steve, do you only use a desk lamp to light yer flies for pics? for this shot I had two main room lights focused over the area and a wee lamp with a shade on held near the fly,
