Thanks lads - lead underbody probably extending too far towards the tail making it too thick. Working on making the head neater

I like it very much, I do think you should have a different name from PTN, it doesn't resemble the PTNs I use, having said that, a nice fish catcher.......

It'll catch fish all day, but from a practical point of view, have you ribbed in the same direction as the pt fibre?
If so, it's probably not going to be as long-lasting as ribbing in the opposite direction to the body material.

Cheers Steve - have changed the direction of ribbing on subsequent flies.

Great looking fly Steve
Just to pick up on what Steve Collyer said i never understood this whole counter rib thing.
Maybe i am being pedantic and i know the wire has SUPPOSED to go the opposite way as the PT fibers but IMO i have never seen a nymph with a cross hatched body
I tie mine like you with the grain and would hope they last as long as anyones.
Anyway just my thought for the evening

they probably will if you varnish the shank/lead first then wrap the pt fibres onto it ????

Bruce
You are currently running the risk of being the most practical person on this board and I thank you for it.
