Default Bugler ?

Evening all,

I've just been reading the latest reports on how Grafham is fishing and there is a fly called the Bugler which seems to be getting a few fish. Does anybody have a dressing or a picture of one by any chance?

Cheers
Ben

Hi Ben, If I remember correctly, it's a floating fry type pattern, or at least a bouyant foam backed type thing. I vaguely remember a 'Calvert's Bugler' in an old T&S (John Calvert?). I'll see if I can dig it out... I may be some time.

Dressing for the one I was given by a fellow forum member, who was given it by an angler at Grafham.

Tail: 1" White Mink
Body: White Fritz
Back: Closed Cell foam over top of fritz, with small section extending over the eye of the hook....

When pulled, it gurgles away on the surface.

Hope this helps

Carl.

P.S. It didnt work in the fry bash....lol.... although a suspender minkie did wonders on a floater on practice day.
