Come on we're artists here with our fly tying...

...why not make your own? Enamel paint thinned or maybe buy some red nail varnish thin it a bit and paint your hooks.

Job done.

They DO make b175's in RED, but they are not brought in through the normal wholesalers, you can quite often see them on ebay's fly tying section. One of the guy's who has had them before now trades as "spanflex 1"

Is Bill McIlroy the only suppliers of these hooks? Are there alternative red hooks that are not Charles Jardine Grubbers available?

I got some Red B175s a couple of years ago from a guy in Wales. Cant remember who mate, so I doubt Bill is the only guy who does these. But try Bill mate im sure he will sort you out after your day afloat last week.

Ill have a wee look to see if ive any left, but might have turned them all into deadly killers.

If youll settle for B170s Chunk, then I know a man who have loads

just logged on to ask the very same question - thank goodness for the search facility!!

So the junkie is also on the lookout for some Red 175's or 170's and would appreciate any info on where to get some. I don't neeed many so Chunky if you want to split a pack of 100 or whatever, you know where I am.

failing that does anyone know if the old Airfix paint (the stuff I used to paint my model aeroplanes with) would do the trick?

Cheers
