Nor me Bruce ................. and guess what ????................ Me, Pete and Chris don't have a single picric dyed fly in our boxes and it hasn't effected our bank team

The stuff I use is 98% water so unless you put it in the oven for a week or drink the stuff its perfectly safe. Picric acid is used in the medical industry and antiques trade, it has been around for 100s of years.

The acetic acid (or vinegar) you use to set dyes with is probably on a par with it - but again unless you drink a bottle of it or evapourate all the water out by heating it for a long period it is harmless.
