exactly what I'm looking for - only starting out so looking for as many tips as I can get.
Using Fly-rite dubbing, reddish brown, it looks fairly fine undubbed but I may be dubbing too much at a time.
I was wondering about cutting the wing on the bnb, I'll try a few without cutting and more feathers per fly. Any particular type of cdc feather (types 1, 2, 3 or 4) best for this pattern?
When you say sit in a half moon do you mean allow the cdc to come down around the sides of the shank tightening?
Sorry for all the q's
Steve

The BnB, I dont think you have used enough CDC. Also lay the CDC flat and match the tips before tyeing in, dont cut it you loose the natural halo effect, the line is too sharp. I like more or a taper going from thin at the tail to fatter at the head. What sort of dubbing are you using, it does not look that fine?
Forgive the list here but you did ask! Try and get the CDC to sit half moon style on the hook so it spreads out in an ark as apposed to a wee tuft.
PM on the way
