Default Salmon Fly wanted!!

Greetings everybody!!

I'm in search for a special samlon fly.
Some weeks ago, at my local flyshop I had the pleasure to meet a fellow flyfisher who introduced me to a very favorable fly tyed on a small golden double. The fly was mostly tied using ingredients from a golden pheasant.
From the tail to the head:
the tail consisted of long reddish brown fibres and ONE strand of golden or copper crystal flash. It had no tag and some golden/copper body with some silver tinsel wound around. A turn of an orange hackle followed by some more body, some JungleCock-Cheeks, one turn of yellow golden pheasant hackle and a red laquered head.
Sadly, I'm not allowed to upload a lowquality handycam-picture to furtherly stress the appearance of that fly, so far.

Does anybody know this fly or the correct pattern?

Any help or hints are appreciated.

TL
Ralph

Default

Could it have been along the same lines as the irish shrimp type patterns? It sounds similar anyway.

Default Sounds like a Frank Moors "Nitro Shrimp " to me.

If you check out back copies of FFand FT you'll find a very similar dressing,

Cheers

Smile

Good evening!!

Thanks Chris, thanks John!

A shrimp pattern would be more meaty in my opinion, but I'm not very used to salmon flies so far. The reddish golden pheasant tailfeather ist VERY sparse and thin.

But there is a similarity to those pot-belly-pig patterns of Frank Moors published in the current ff&ft. But the appearance of this fly is much slimmer.

Searching the net about a "nitro shrimp" I found no concludent picture.

But these hints are pointing in the right direction as I think.

BTW: what should I do being allowed to upload the picture I have of that fly?

TIA and TL
Ralph
