Default Fly-Mate Vice

Hello all i am putting my vice together that got delivered today .Everything seems ok except i cant figure out what the stainless spring does & how you fit it.The instructions don't mention it & if it gets fitted with a screw there aren't any in the box .Cheers

Dont quote on this but i think the spring you are on about wraps round the main part of the vice and just clip it together and it is for holding material away from the vice until you are ready to use it.hope that makes sense.

I would agree wth Horses50, it is probably a material spring which fits along at the rear of the vice jaws it helps hold thread, tinsel etc out of the way as you tie other materials in.

take a look at this picture you can see the spring on the end of the main housing which holds the stem which the jaws are attatched to ........

I think it's a very good vice for the money .I was thinking about buying an expensive vice but decided i would be better off putting more money towards good capes & materials instead .Cheers
