Default Live Chat?

Live chat? my wife thinks I'm nerdy enough as it is for looking on here and tying flies. If I actually start talking to you lot as well she'll be getting me a duffle coat and some NHS specs with a plaster holding the arms on. I think she'd rather find me on one of the other type of live chat sites

For a beginner like me I think it would be really usefull to get an insight into some of the better tiers techniques and reasoning, so some sort of live event would be quite beneficial.

I think once people get settled into the winter and back at there vices, then as a few people have said, all that's required is a good topic for a thread.

However if you want some structure and thought the 'classics' posts were a good template for this, then I have always said that I'm more than happy for other people to use the template for other patterns.

What about we tie the fly featured each month by Charles Jardine in F.F.and F.T. I think most people buy this and would have all the info to hand.

Thats my tuppence worth
Sorry but i have not seen a pattern tied by Mr Jardine that i personally would use and that is not a sleight on the learned gentleman but he tends to focus on stillwaters and a stillwater angler i am not. What about having different sections such as stillwater, river and saltwater? this way people have the choice and are more likely to participate. What do you guys think?????

It was just a thought mate, plenty more flies to choose from in the mag' or any other, such as Trout and Salmon.

i have started a thread titled ( Select a fly club ) ,,which i was hoping would be on the right track for getting something started!! , but after 50 views and no replies, I'm beginning to worry that this is not going to be as easy as first thought ,can any of you guys think of a good way to get this up and running tonight with the prospect of our first fly starting tomorrow ,which was what i intended for the thread titled (Select a fly club) but with those fifty view and still no posts Ive got to think Ive got this one wrong ,,and need more help in getting it of the ground guys ,so please help. i think this could really be a great idea if it gets enough input from the right guys.

U Know Who U Guys Are

I notice that to. He's obviously a very respected fly fisherman, but why does he have 2 articles in every FF&FT mag? Also wouldn't he be better using photos rather than sketches of tying his flies, which I get the impression won't be used by too may readers? Also do narratives and sketches of casting techniques actually help anyone? Personally I don't think so. No disrepect to Mr Jardine but his articles are the two articles that I read last if at all.
