Hi
Can anyone identify the flt pictured below please.It looks a bit like a cruncher to me but with a lead head?

Not like any cruncher that I've seen I'm afraid!

More like a variation on a Montana theme with a bead head and certainly not recognisable as a standard pattern.

i dont think this is a recognised fly, more like a bespoke rainbow gold head nymph.

The tail, legs behind the bead and a thorax/wing case of sorts puts it firmly in the imitative nymph area. The rainbow body makes it stand out a little from the olive/brown/black of normal nymph patterns

Thanks for the replies
yes it does look a bit like a Montanna
I haven't caught on it yet but was recommended to buy it as having caught that day at Treemeadow (in August)
