Default fly tying beginner

i have been fishing for almost 2 years.
over the winter months i am thinking of having a go at fly tying.
i am in need of practical advice to which tools are essentials.
also which patterns would you suggest are good starters for a complete beginner without buying alot of materials i will never use again!.
i know there is a show in sheffield next month, has anyone been?, also are there any clubs in the midlands (leicester)

your help will be breatly recieved.

Take the time to scan through the last few months' of threads here. It's pretty easy to identify the ones where people have asked exactly the same question and received detailed answers. Then come back with any further questions.

Default Fly Tying

Leicester Fly Fishing Association will be holding a fly tying evening for their next meeting on 5th November, commencing at 8.00pm.

There will also be a series of fly tying evenings (aimed at beginners and improvers) commencing on 21st October at 7.30pm. See here for further dates: LFFA Fly Tying Evenings

All meetings will be held at the Liberal Club, Wigston.

New members are most welcome.

Marabou viva
Black tadpole

These are all fairly simple, have commonly used & cheap materials & will always catch fish.
