Default Stonefly tools

Hi Samben,
Don't do it mate, the're poor at best.
Bought the bobbin holder and threader, tried to open up the arms as it was a bit tight and the plastic arms fatigued. The threader bent at the base and would break if i used it.
Got a Dr slicks set from Tackle Bargains, seems good and you get a Matereli style whip finish tool ,which is much easier to use in my opinion.
Cheers Kev.

Wouldn't recommend them - someone gave me the set a few years ago , bobbin threader & scissors were ok , the rest are still in the box , poor in my opinion . Buy odd items as suggested as you'll probably buy a few before you find a whip finisher or scissors that you really like !

Default Stonefly Bobbin Holder

I have only used the bobbin holder and i thought it was great until it broke a week later i returned it to the shop and it was replaced but it broke as well. I have since went to the C&F bobbin holder and all i can say is wow you definately get what you pay for and those extra couple of pounds are worth it.

Sonefly stuff isn't great. Have broken two bobbin holders. Have some c&f stuff and also bought the petigean kit, which I like! Just buy the necessities first and then add to it once your proficient. I would wait the bffi and see what you can pick up.

definatley guff! got a set for my birthday a few years ago(bloody expensive it was too!) sciccors..guff!... bobbin holder guff!...hair stacker guff!because its plastic and the hair sticks to it with all the electrostatic?..hackle pliers guff! the only thing i use out of the whole kit is the dubbing needle and the bobbin threader!...and the box lol... i like the griffin bobbin holders personally, kind of mid priced and seem good quality and i like my new anvil sciccors, tools get to a stage where they can be just stupid prices and some of them are nothing more than fashionable! like gucci etc etc i do believe you get what you pay for most of the time...but not all of the time.
