Default shipmans buzzer CDC

hi all, i am just wondering If one could use CDC fibres for the part of a Shipmans buzzer that floats(sorry i dont know what its called). I Would like to knock a few of these up but i dont have any foam left and i have some CDC.
Just a thought
Thanks in advance

I guess you could use CDC for the breathers, white would be best, don't think it would make a lot of difference, the standard Shipmans' is a pretty good fish catcher...................

Default cdc v antron

The only problem I forsee with CDC beathers is waterlogging if the fly is pulled at all and in my experience the best takes to Shipmans come when its twitched or even pulled. Antron is cheaper and easier to work with so I'd save the cdc for something that really benefits from it. If its not broke etc.

Cheers

Spot on Pete. It would be a bit like sticking some CDC on yer wife to help improve her ironing.... you might enjoy the process and think she looks pretty good, but ultimately, it's pointless - she's good enough already.

Tom, trust me, the original Shipman is as good today as it's always been. Any issues with floatability, either positive or negative, can be cured by fine tuning your dressing, not changing the materials. And don't forget, it's at its best in the film rather than on it.
