Default Dying wild Rabbit & Hare

Hello all i can get plenty rabbit & hare skins & wondeing if it's easy enough to dye with Veniards Dye. Cheers

Just follow the instructions with the veniard dye, this part is easy enough.
I am assuming that you are getting untanned skins from rabbits and hares, so if you are you will have to treat them and dry them off first.

If assume you can skin them alright, then you would need to nail them to a board, a nail every inch or so, do not stretch the skin too tight though.
Use salt and alum to cure your skin, firstly, coat the skin liberally with salt, then add alum to it. Allow to dry out, then you are in business. Remember a little dye is better than too much, you can always add more, but like me, canny subtract. Do not bother with red, as it looks bad on both rabbit and hare alike.

Cheers doonicus i have read a few bits off the net & it seems easy enough but was unsure if you had to start of with white rabbit first .I am a time served butcher so skinning is no problem. I will need to take the ferrets out for a walk & get me some dubbing.
