Default Rubis scissors

These are the Scissors that C & F and Marc Petijean use n their fly tying range, I have found them here http://www.fuzzoff.co.uk/acatalog/Rubis.html I have ordered the hand nail scissors

I'll let you know if they are any good but at almost half the price of the "Fly Dressing scissors" they may be worth the money

Chris

Yes, those are the ones. I like the large "toe" size. Excellent for general work. Good price also.

Cheers

Just got my scissors, they are the same as the Petijean and C & F ones, curved blades with a fine tip, 1st class delivery, in a presentation case for £19 all in as opposed to £35 from a fly tying shop!!

My mate has a pair of these and they seem very good. They are certainly a beautiful design, when you are using them the twist in the shafts up to the loops is almost an optical illusion.

Now you've found these for us I might invest in a pair.

It makes me wonder what else we can save money on if we did our research.

Thanks for sharing!!

Andy

I have the C&F Marco Polo travel fly tying kit and these are indeed the scissors that are included in the kit. They are excellent scissors and I would say they're at least equal to if not better than Dr Slick.

I'll let you know over the coming months, I have gone through 3 pairs of scissors this year, my marryat ones, someone borrowed them to cut barbed wire, at least that is what it looked like Cost £10, the ICE\Anvil ones have worked loose, they cost £16, so I thought I would splash the cash on the Petijean ones, then saw the make and googled them, got a great price, the scissors are small, well crafted and sharp, I just hope that they last me about a year
