Default CDC fibres for tails

Hi Folks,

Just been knocking up a few dries and tried using some 'waste' CDC fibres for the tails of flies akin to Buzz's 'Bread and Butter'. Just wondered if there was any reason why they might not do the job before I go off and use them a bit more. They seem to work well in a glass of water!

Thought they might be better than stiffer fibres too, such as hackle fibres or especally paint brush fibres (fibbets!) because they won't interfere with the hooking?

Any and all thoughts welcome,

Andy

Perfect to imitate the early stage of the hatch and create a shuck.
Also great for movement, no reason what so ever not to use them.

Stuart Crofts uses them in one of his patterns for the tail. I think its a spinner from memory. If its good enough for him!!

Cool,

Thanks for the replies guys and I shall make it so then!

Made a couple of mistakes early in my still-young tying career and wanted to make sure I hadn't missed something that led to a lot of time spent re-tying.

Much appreciated,

Andy
