Today this pattern given to me by Beacon Beige caught an obscene amount of trout and one Grayling.

Thread:- Skinny stuff
Hook:- A bent one
Body :- Gold
Hackle :- Spun squirrel
Wing :- CDC
Tail:- Micro fibbets

That very fly works wonders on stillwaters as well

Messy, messy?
Thats the neatest organic looking fly i have.

To be honest its a bit "fancy" for me , i like my trout flies to look like wee creepy crawlies which effectively means grey/olive or yellowish and dull but the last few weeks the Dry Red Tag has astounded me so much so that i am looking at flies in a whole new light.

So Sage, more about these wee claret numbersplease dont tell me they have a thorax hackle, i could not continue fishing if that was the case.

Not a dry, just what the 53cm ladies like!!

But on the dry front been having a lot of fun on very small sedge patterns down here.
