Talking One for the purists

Well not really!!!

The Trout at my club lake have been shoaled up for about a month over the freshwater springs in the lake bed and are not very receptive to the usual nymphs and dries but I find I can get a bit of action with this

Its my variation of an American Snook pattern called Hotlips and works quite well with a slow figure of eight retrieve with the odd short strip.
You only hook about 1 in 5 rises to this fly but its a lot easier to cast than a Cork bodied Popper.

Aah yes. Cleary a suggestive pattern for a sedge pupae.

Otherwise known as the Gurgler (from Jack Gartside) but with a set of legs tied in. Great for Snook, Tarpon, Sea Bass and any predator fish hunting topside.

Disgraceful. My sensibilities are offended.
