Default fly tying kits

i haven't had a chance to fish lately as i'm doing my lorry licence very soon and have been spending time revising for it but i've took a notion of trying to tie my own flies over winter, i know that generally people don't recomend buying tying kits as there's alot of materials i'll never use but is there any recomendations on a tying kit that just has tools and no materials, i've had a look but not too sure what the main differences are with quality etc, is there any kits around the £50 mark with all the tools i need?

thanks

No vice though?

This one does though

Or there's Lakeland Flytying

If you go to the top of the page, you'll see a "search" tab, use that for "fly tying kits" & there's reams written about them.

i've alrady did this but the majority of threads say to avoid these kits because they come with materials that you'll never use, i'm just looking for a kit with just the tools

No experience at all, except I did own a stonefly bobbin holder.

It snapped after 6 yrs, so not too bad maybe?

I had a stonefly whip finish tool that lasted about 2 weeks.

Hi there and welcome to the best stress buster also known as fly tying.
Carrilon do fly tying kits with some basic materials inc vice, should start you tying nymphs and wets etc.
Just wanting tools and vice, Griffin tools from Steve Parton (on the web) a no nonsense bloke will sell you everything you need, great chap to talk to and full of advice just let him know what you want to tie and he will fix you up, including fairly cheap materials.

Whatever you do stay clear of the Stonefly tools. Utter junk & not worth the money. From one who owned one all be it briefly.

I would steer clear of kits. Far better to purchase a half decent vice, a good bobbin holder and a decent pair of scissors, then ...... decide what pattern you'd like to tie and get the materials and you're on your way. You'll then find that by buying the materials you need for each pattern you want to tie you'll soon build up a stock of useful stuff and not be left with materials / tools in a kit that you'd rarely if ever need or use.

Stonefly tools? Utter rubbish.
