Default RIP vice :(

well my tying antics have come to an end for a little while, i have been using the snowbee flymate ball joint, the ball joint was getting a tad loose, last night i undid the little grub screw and tightened the collar a couple of turns, then the head fell off my vice , it seems the cup the ball sits in is made of plastic not aluminium as i thought....

Ho hum... guess i will be shopping for a new vice when i have the funds... until then no tying, i will have to make do with whats in my fly boxes...

I have one of these you can have/borrow:

Perhaps when you're done with it you can donate it to a budding new tier on here.

I had the same issue with mine not long after I bought it. Snowbee were good enough to replace it with the non ball joint head

May be woth a phone call.

Ive heard of people using super glue to fix the ball in too. I still have mine here, you can have it but Im guessing its in the same condition as yours. The ball sits in the cup still but any type of pressure on the jaws and it just pops out.
