Steve,

I have both volumes - interesting patterns - many are a "variation on a theme" of Oliver Edwards' patterns but there are ceratainly some interesting techniques described.

The photography is a little unclear in places - white backgrounds don't help and the first issue is rather a joke in respect of spelling errors - I think when the book was first released, someone counted about 174 errors!!!

But reading past the sloppy text, both books certainly have merit.

You are welcome to borrow them if you wish - just say the word and I will post them to you.

Kind regards

Echo Phil's comments. I expected a lot better for the comparatively high price.

These books are what inspired me to tie, I found them very early on in my learning curve but jumped in at the deep end and never looked back!

Despite the typos/errors they are well worth purchasing, and the photography is excellent.

These books really help you improve your tying as they teach lots of new techniques and skills. they certainly changed the way I use thread and changed my dubbing technique.

Steve Thornton has really inspired the way I tie, and I'm sure anybody who loves tying will love these books.

PS. Buy the ring bound issues!

They're cracking books, both of them...Yes there are maybe a few too many typo's...How sad someone took the time to add them all up...And as for "variation of a theme" i think you'll find nature was the creator...After all don't we just create variations of the same theme to catch our quarry...

I prefer his toffees.

PS There's no excuse for spelling mistakes, particularly many, in a book published for sale.
