Default Hooks

An old friend gave me his collection of flies years ago. I was looking at them last night and noticed the hooks were different to most of those I see in this forum. Where the shank meets the bend, the bend is almost at 90 degrees and continues that way to the point. Sorry no photo.
Does anyone know of that type of hook? They look the real thing to me.

Hi sonnaghan,
Sounds like you have flies tied on Sneck bend hooks. As far as
Im aware they were popular for wet flies.

Yep, sound like a sneck bend to me too and I wish I could get some blind eye versions for a framing project I'd like to try. Sadly even eyed versions are long since discontinued in all sizes except tiny dry hooks and even they aren't a true sneck from what I've seen.
