Default Klinkhamers - tails/shucks or none like the original?

Title says it all. Just wondering what people find the most successful. I was intrigued by the flash strands on Chris Sandford's Wing Bud Emerger in this month's FF&FT and wondered if people applied similar to their Klink's.

I try and put something pearly on there somewhere.

Be it a rib or even just a band where the 'thorax' is. Just to represent a bubble of air, yes

If your adding "bits" to a fly there are others worth tinkering with other than a Klink. It does not get any better.
The only comment i would add is for some reason early season the fish appear to prefer them shaggier and then latterly neater.

Well it would of course be a "variant".

I was also thinking of using wrapped biots for the abdomen for a nice segmented look. I've tied parachute flies this way and was thinking about how the Klinkhamer sits under the surface film versus the parachute with tail sitting in the surface film.

Any musings on the differences/similarities and applications of Klinkhamers vs parachute (upwing) flies would be appreciated.

(I've got some great looking TMC 212Y hooks from Phil Holding that look the business. Dramatically smaller than the Partridge Klinkhamer Extreme hooks I had been using.)

Why not? People start new threads for sillier questions than that!

It's a wet.

Unless you fish it as a dry obviously.

I agree about the question, infact i would go as far to say the sillier the question the better.

Anyone know what a long haired male adult hamster weighs (In Oz)?
