Default Fly differences Hants v Derbyshire

Are there any patterns among the patterns of flies that make any discernable difference?

From my own findings the flies of Derbyshire appear to be slightly darker overall.

Does anyone have a view on the differences and we will be leaving out the 'realistic' section for any discussion.

Be interested to hear if anyone has a view on this.

Thanks in advance.

Do you mean fly patterns in general or representatives of a particular species - the 'bwo' for example?

I believe the Hampshire flies have a more clipped middle class accent and the Derbyshire ones a more open vowel orientated midland drawl, does that help mate?

Fly patterns in general I was kind of getting at.

There are obvious differences at a deatailed level but it is overall I am thinking of.

Default bwo

Oh well.... I was going to go into specifics... now I can't.

I would have mentioned, in clipped military tones, for Hants and Wilts - that a dray orange quill is very good. Yet "useless" - I'm quoting J Waller Hills here - further north: ginger quill on the Derbyshire Wye and, we musn't forget Yorkshire's Driffield Beck, where the red quill rules. Aye ooop.
