Default forum etiquette

i have noticed on many occasions in this forum a lot of handbags at 10 paces, i thought this forum was for everyone to share views and advice. why do some folks jump down others throats so much? remember guys fishing is a hobby, there are no hard and fast rules for fly fishing or fly tying. our sport needs more youngsters so lets encourage them instead of deterring them.

the problem with forums is that sometimes the context of a post is misread and not in the intention it was written ,sometimes with or with out a smilie to emphasise that it is purely in fun,ans sometimes it can be that one person just doesnt get on with another member despite never having met that person why it happens i doubt we will ever know ,it just does and its always best to stay out of it as usually the offender shoots themselves in the foot and end up getting suspended or banned from the forum something i think should happen more as a detterent to violators of the forum rules.

your right in saying there is no hard and fast rules barring the obvious closed season ,competition rules etc despite them being broken at times ,fishing should be fun and made fun to youngsters starting out in the sport, everyone should encoursge the youngsters they are "the future of our sport"

You are spot on there Fishermanny.
I'm suprised nobody has jumped down your throat for posting in fly tying and not general fly fishing.
Some people just like hassle and winding people up.Wonder how many people are put off posting?
Cheers Kev.

But what exactly is the dressing for a 'Forum Etiquette' or am I missing the point of the Fly Tying Forum?

Just so as not to disappoint Brook.

Well close season for many of us is fast approaching so wont be long until this place turns into a wild west saloon again. This year I promise to stay clear of all rows
