Gerry

Crackers as id expect from you

Last year i copied/borrowed your second fly but with silver tag, black thread and natural tail crest tied on B175 size 10 its proved very popular with rainbows and browns fish on top dropper either retrieved or allowed to swing in the wind im never without it cheers.

I really must experiment with your other patterns ................

Out of interest do you use any small sparse kates ??

I use a "sparse" kate i got from a mate B175 size 14 short natural crest, silver tag fine gold wire NO seals fur ! Black hackle split before hackling, same with ginger head hackle its proved a killer either on point or top dropper wild browns love it as to bows.

Id love to see any "sparse" or "small" kates you use

Out of interest do you use any "hot tail" kates ?? personally ive never had any luck with them ?? Although others seem to swear by them ??

This is the only hot tailed kate I have used, with Glo-brite No 8 floss, I just have more confidence in the crest in various colours, the jungle tail kate has just has it's first season and has either fished it's socks off or done nothing.

With regards to sparse, Gerry's Kate is about as sparse as I have gone with no body hackle and just a couple of turns black and brown hen at the head.

Cheers
