Default Cat Gut

Steffan Jones did an article and flies in one of the glossy fishing Mags a while ago using cat gut for Grayling flies.
I have managed at long last to get some but for the life of me cannot find the article now.
Can anyone please tell me what Mag and what issue?
Thanks in anticipation.
Mark

Default Cat Gut

I sewed people up with Cat Gut many years ago. It was discarded when better materials came on the market. It absorbes water and distintigrates in 6 weeks in the body. The best was made by the London Hospital and was stored in alcohol. It came in glass ampoules. Gut is dangerous because of the potential of transmitted virus diseases.
I have found Okuma nylon. Very strong, clear and with no memory. Why dont you try that? The BEST material for casts is polypropelene but I cant find it at all. Unlike nylon it does not lose strength in water. Nylon does.

Mark, I can picture the piece in my minds eye, and I feel it was T&S. Could be wrong though.

Best bet would be to email Mark Bowler at FF&FT and Andrew Flitcroft at T&S. Im sure they'll be able to tell you the issue.
