Default buzzers gone white

Tied about 20 buzzers last night and varnished the lot got up this morning and they have all got like a white look to them,are these all knacke88d or can i save them,the varnish is what i have always used what is the problem????????????? never had this before.

have you coated them with superglue previous to varnishing ?? and has that reacted with the varnish , it doesnt normally but it may have ????

Superglue, or dried too quicly, under heat??

Sounds like your superglue hadn't dried properly.

Id say super glue ,, as ive made than mistake myself

Hard as nails then a coating of loctite super glue ,, no more white buzzers

I got a simlar effect when I put a coat of varnish over the silver flat tinsel ( First Pic: My Sea Trout flies)

But it dried clear.

whats the make of the varnish you use, i find veniyards (dont know how to spell it) or lureflash quite good

Thanks for the replies,the varnish i am useing is a wapsi head cement i have used this for all my tying and like i said never had the problem before,i did not use superglue so i can rule that one out but thanks anyway.

It could be that your varnish may be the wrong side of its use by date, or it may have got some moisture or other impurity in the bottle if you've left the top off for any length of time. Try another bottle of something else & see if you get the same problem.

give the bottle a good shake, i just looked at mine now, applied it on to the fly and i have a really glossy finish on a bloodworm buzzer.

hope this will make it better.

to cold for drying your varnish has what they call bloomed it sometimes happens to paint, if you do use super glue or varnish apply thin coats if you put a thick coat on it bloomes aswell
