Hi Baz, great effort mate thats a nice looking snatcher and will defo catch fish.

Only things I can say which may help or may not I don't know but anyway: perhaps the rib would be better with wire rather than tinsel? The jungle cock cheeks could be tied a bit further in ie a wee bit less of the black part of the JC showing - splits would be fine for snatchers too mate and save your better feathers for other flies.

Not critisizing just trying to give my opinion which may help?

Great fly though mate, could be worth knocking some up in 12s and 14s as well - that looks like a 10?

Sam

I would echo many of Sam's thoughts... Wire or fine oval for the rib. JC splits, and tied in a wee bit shorter. You've just about got away with the density of the body hackle... but only just Have a go at stripping the hackle down one side. Damn fine effort though, worthy of a place on anyone's cast.

Nice looking fly. I would be happy with that on the my cast.

I use cut down biots from Gerry at Artifly in place of the JC. Gives you some good variations in terms of the range of colours.

I like black flies with fl green or sunburst cheek.

Thanks for sharing, I love seeing other peoples flies, it always inspires me.

Andy

Cheers for all the sound advice and will stick my chatreuse JC cape to good use on the black and green snatcher later tonight.
Thanks again

Black and green and only one side of the hackle used this time
