If the weather is bright, try a #12 b175 with a Chomper on it. Use orange globrite floss as tying thread, olive or brown raffene for the back, a silver oval rib counterwound through slim white ostrich but finish 3mm behind the eye & build up a head with the tying thread. Give the head 2/3 coats of s/h & use at least a 6lbs flouro tippet !

All the usual suspects:
Leaded GRHE
Montana's
Buzzer's
If there's any activity up top then
Dry sedge or daddy, hacklepoint coachman
& I suppose pretty much any lure if you get desperate!

Let me put it this way.
If I turn up to a water I haven't fished before at 08:00 or thereabouts, I'll set up a floater with a leaded GRHE if there's no activity on the surface.
If fish are rising regularly, I'll stick on a small dry.
