Default original leven spider pattern

Firstly let me say EEEEK this seems strange me making a post in the tying section lol.

Well i am getting into tying me own fleas even though i started out thinking i would never be interested in doing so lol.

Anyway to start i will be tying Blobs and buzzers. but there is one spider pattern i really want to learn to tie but cant find at all, and that is the original leven spider pattern.
and would it be ok to tie it on a Kamasan hook.

Kamasan B170 or 175 would be ideal.

Tail - Glo-brite 11 or 12, or mixed
Rib - Fine oval gold or wire
Body - Flat gold
Hackle - Black hen
Head - Glo-brite 5

Not the finest example of the Leven Spider I've ever seen there Bruce! Too heavily dressed, and I believe the head needs to be at least red, if not glo-brite No. 5.

Here you go James.. another example of how NOT to tie the Leven Spider One of my first attempts from around 20 yrs ago It helps if you have red thread... rather than daubing red nail varnish all over the head! Tail is way too short, hackle ain't too bad though.

i am sure my first attempt will be completely wrong and rubbish pmsl.
Still we shall all need to wait, as all i am doing just now is making a list of materials i will need for the flies i want to tie and the tools needed.
as i know not to waste the cash on a complete kit seen as i am never going to use most of the materials they provide. well not for a while at least.
