Default A fly for all seasons…

A fly I had never heard of, the "Baby Sun Fly". Louis Noble has just joined our club and submitted this article on our web site about its history and tying instructions. Hope you like the fly.

I know of the fly and heard of its use on the upper Dee.
I fish the Alyn stretches below the Rossett ones and have had moderate success this season with a small (18-20) black spider fished washing line style on a dropper and a DHE or paraloop emerger on the point. The small black spiders aren't dissimilar to the sunfly Louis mentions.

Thanks AlynFisher, I'll tie and try...or even try to tie

Ah, yes, the baby sun fly! This fly is deadly on the River Usk in April & May when the Gronnom are about! I sometimes leave the tail out and add a yellow tag! Must be fished as a dry fly or emerger pattern!
