Cheers Tapshop have to say for any one in need of good mallard just got 6 bumper bags for the price of 5 from www.finneysflies.com and his mallard is good quality well dyed nice bright colours

Like the look of that one Breezy looks as though it would take the broonies and the bows
Think the grey mallard is a bit ott at £5 per bag though, no wonder you got one free at that price as that is double the norm.

Nice wrappings breezy, i know lawerance and his flies , top notch, when would you use the orange dabbler??? And would you have it as a dropper or on the point

Hi hobble thanks for the comments as for fishing this fly I would use this through the summer if the water was clear i would fish it on the top dropper as it is a bright coloured fly and would do well as an attracter fish would see this but most likley turn on your middle dropper or point fly can be fished middle dropper as well but I prefer a weighted fly on the point to help keep my leader straight and helps sink the rest of my wet flies faster but every one to there own IMO

Yeah i agree breezy although id change them around if i was getting follows or interest but no takes,
couple of others which work well,
claret and pearly dabbler.
Red assed fiery brown dabbler,
sooty diamond dabbler
lawerance should know these gems

breezy i was shown one below in sheelin that had caught a few fish, guy told me he got it tied up for competition on melvin,
im sure lawerance finney or frankie mcphilips would have the tyings, looked nice caught my eye, ill give lawerance a buzz and see,
