Default A few wets......

I had a play around with a few ideas last night and came up with these:

Claret dabbler
Hook: Fulling Mill Comp #10
Thread: UTC rusty brown
Tail: Pheasant tail
Body: Blend of various claret and rusty seals furs
Rib: UTC wire Red
Hackle: Furnace hen
Collar: Dyed claret golden pheasant
Wing: Bronze mallard with JC splits

Midlander's Airehead
Hook: As above
Thread: UTC black
Tail: Pheasant tail dyed dark olive
Body: Mirage tinsel
Rib: Fine silver wire
Hackle: black hen
Wing: Bronze mallard with JC splits
Alex (Midlander) devised this one for Malham. This is my take on it - somewhat heavier dressed than the elegant original.

This 'orrible looking thing accounted for a couple of nice fish at Stocks recently. I suppose it might be viewed as the 'gentleman's blob'.......

Matt
Excellent flies, try that sunburst dabbler with a full cloak at the head.

I have had excellent results with my depth dabblers over the last two seasons.
