Default Georgeous George's Mate!

Hi All,

Its been a while since I posted any flies, but I'm back at the vice now!

I was tying a load of traditional George's and thought I'd try a few variants, and this one looked the best of the bunch.

Click the image to open in full size.

  • Hook: Hayabusa Size 10 761
  • Thread: Roman Moser Power Silk Brown 10/0
  • Tag: Mirage Tinsel
  • Tail: Globrite no.4 (8 Strands)
  • Body: Olive Seals Fur with added gold glister
  • Body Hackle: Olive Grizzle
  • Rib: Medium Red Holo
  • Legs: Picric pheasant Tail
  • Throat: Picric English Partridge
  • Eyes: Chartreuse JC
  • Head Hackle: Ginger Furnace
Looking forward to testing it soon.

I'll try and get some pics in the sunshine at the weekend as the colours are much more interesting in reality!

Thanks Seanie, The chartreuse JC is from Gerry (Ruthenflyfsher). He had one for sale in trade classifieds yesterday I think.

nice one ben, looks well, i put some yellow in the butt with the hot orange or red, and some sparklethrough the hackle prior to building up your finish . Nice fly , since you got loads you could send me over a few variants,

If you only need a few dyed j.c's why not use a permanent marker on some you may already have ?

Most excellent looking fly Ben. Would look very appealing to the fish I would have thought. Are you selling any if asked?
